For years I felt like I wasn’t old enough to start something or too old to be doing it either. Whether it was blogging, making videos, social media, crafting, or riding horses I always felt like there were already so many people already doing what I wanted and that I didn’t have the experience and there for the right to be talking about these things.
Any of it or even all of it.
So, then I finally decided for myself to just do it anyway. Start late, start early, it didn’t matter because if it lights me up and makes me happy then I needed to go for it and enjoy it.
I am starting this blog “late”. After 4 other failed attempts to blog and “make it work” and watch other creators have success, I am taking this chance to write without the pressure of being perfect or doing all the “right” things all at the same time.
I plan on taking the lessons I learned before and using them as guidance to help push me forward instead of as a this is how it has to be done planned.
I am working to let myself explore, play, and find a rhythm that works for me and my life while also serving you too.
This is the same way I plan on taking action in other areas that I want to reexplore or to explore for the first time.
Yes, I realize that almost area is oversaturated and yes that scares the shit out of me, but I am refusing to allow it to control my actions and stop me completely. I may take a break or go all in on one more than the others but even a small step on days that feel like too much is still more important than doing nothing at all.
You are never truly late to start something new or to start something over.
I fully and completely believe in the saying that you aren’t late at starting something but right where you are meant to be.
The lessons you learned are useful to the path you are on and can help guide you on this new journey. If you are just starting something completely new at any age or stage of life, then you can use that fresh perspective to learn from others and to teach others a new perspective on what you are doing too.
Don’t feel locked down with fear of getting it all right or overwhelmed with having to learn everything all at once because truthfully you can’t learn everything all in one setting and keep up with it.
A setback isn’t a failure but a lesson that can be used to move forward.
Want to set a goal for your new project?
Awesome!
If not at first that’s ok too.
For my social media and videoing starting late projects, I don’t currently have a goal other than to just get something created and posted into the world. But for the new blog I am creating goals that can help me to stay on track with what I can produce and where I may be struggling more than I can see in the moment now.
These goals are not too challenging and leave room for me to continue to learn new things or also learn what I like to do more than other things.

My goals for this blog for the first 6 months:
- 1 blog post a week (written work)
- 1 newsletter either weekly or biweekly (to start)
- Take 10 new photos and upload
- 1 new/favorite recipe (this pushes me to cook more and share it)
- 2-3 social media post a week (minimum)
This set of goals allows me to go after each area of my blog that I want to wok on while also leaving room to breathe, learn, and tackle other areas in my life as well (like the laundry pile that is staring back at me as I write this).
I’d love to hear from you!
What’s your new or something late area? Are you setting a goal or target for it? What do they look like for you? If you want to share them with me directly you can email me or send me a message on social. Connecting with other women to help stay accountable and excited about your goals or dreams can help you achieve them and bring them to light.
Remember to dream bold, create often, and don’t be afraid to leave a little dust on your boots along the way.
